Storyboard Collage

For this project, I learned how to create cut out art pieces to design my own storyboards like artist Eric Carle does when he creates his children's stories and illustrations. I first painted different designs and then made stencils or templates and cutout each piece for my characters from the paint designs. Next, I glued the pieces onto construction paper to form my storyboard page.

Extension Art Activity: Use this project with Language Arts' lessons to study different author's that are being taught about in class or that are the student's favorite authors. For example, during the week of Dr. Seuss's birthday, have students create their own storyboard artwork based on their own versions of their favorite Dr. Seuss book.
