Hidden Safari
For this project, I drew an animal that students might see on a safari, and then used different patterns and geometric or organic shapes to hide my animal. I also created red 3-D glasses to find the hidden animal and made a clue card for others to try to figure out what animal was hidden in my artwork.
Extension Art Activity: Tie this project into a Science lesson having students use animals or plants being studied in class as the hidden object, and then use questions that they might see on a quiz to identify the plant or animal that they find. By using the project this way, it gives students a fun way to study for a plant or animal identification quiz in science, and because they are creating their own artwork as a study tool, they will retain the information better.
